When I told friends that I volunteered to come to a location located 750 miles above the Arctic Circle for a year. While this location is remote, if you have the courage to experience the environment, this can be a great place to spend your time away from civilization. The daylight has returned to this majestic place and activities are keeping me very busy. This past weekend showed me another side of this place that left me in awe. I got the opportunity to meet local Inuit hunters and watch a sled dog race across the Arctic Ocean as part of Armed Forces Day. It was breathtaking.
